MY STORY
the beginning:
My story starts years before I became a personal trainer. I grew up dealing with pain, discomfort, and unexplained issues.
I was repeatedly told by medical professionals that over the counter medication and prescription medication would help my symptoms- but they would never go away. I eventually was diagnosed with a thyroid condition- a chronic autoimmune disease that significantly impacted my daily life. Through aches and pains, I was diagnosed and misdiagnosed years before I began to find solutions. I began thinking of my body as a priority. I wanted to understand the “why” behind my pain and started to educate myself on health and wellness.
Through this education process, I understood my pain came from pattern overloads in my body, unhealthy daily habits, and lack of proper movement. Implementing fitness into my life not only helped me get into shape, it helped me manage my autoimmune disease and successfully achieve remission.
Making healthy nutritional changes and implementing daily movement helped me control my chronic disease. Being able to see positive changes within myself inspired me to truly want to help motivate and help others make a positive impact in their lives through health and fitness.
When I started Genesis Training my goal was simple: to help clients believe in their ability to heal themselves through movement. Our motto reflects just that… YOU are the answer. Genesis Training will help guide you towards positive freedom in your own body so you live to your fullest potential.
YOU:ONE
Stephanie was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and attended California State University Long Beach. Early in her career, she worked with foster youth- assisting in the implementation of several trauma informed programs and secondary programs that focused on health, wellness, and food security. She took what she learned and began working with food start up companies as an Operations Manager and dabbled deeper into the food service industry. After working her way up from prep to sous chef and eventually head chef she realized burnout and health concerns were real. She took a few years off from the industry to travel the world before settling down and focusing on health, wellness, and food.
